We are the largest association for educators in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the United States! When we speak together our voices are louder, and we have more power to effect positive change within our profession. Education is a unique profession, and ALL educators have so much to bring to the table. Whether you are a teacher, bus driver, secretary, or administrator, you spend the most time with our students. You know them best, and should have influence over the education process.

Every day, NEA Member Benefits is working to serve the needs of education professionals with savings, discounts, products and services to help make their lives more rewarding. Examples of benefits you can access are free life insurance, vacation discounts, and student loan forgiveness help. Our state affiliate provides a discount card to Office Depot that gets you great discounts on copies and more!

Ensuring great schools through supporting great teaching is crucial to the success of our schools. LAE & LPAE members build, own, and lead in a number of areas to improve the quality of teaching and learning through our Teaching and Learning Center. A variety of PDs are available such as Praxis prep, classroom management, and trauma informed instruction. Keep an eye out on our social media for opportunities! You can also earn microcredentials or attend Webinars through our national affiliate, NEA.

Being a member gets you access to liability insurance, legal services, and support locally. We have a local Uniserv director, Association Representatives, and Officers who can help you with workplace issues. Remember, your working conditions are student's learning conditions! LAE and LPAE also advocate on the state and local levels on issues and policies related to public education.
